Very strong cyclone ‘Mocha’, which is located in Central Bay of Bengal and adjacent South East Bay of Bengal, is moving north and northeast and is staying in East Central Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas. In this situation, the country’s seaports and coastal areas have been asked to show distress signal Number 8.

The coastal districts of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Chandpur, and their offshore islands and chars will be under danger signal number 10, while Bhola, Borguna, Patuakhali, Barisal, Pirozpur, Jhalokathi, Bagherhat, Khulna, and Satkhira will be under danger signal number 8.

On the beaches, red flags warn visitors of the upcoming danger. Visitors have been advised not to enter water deeper than knee-deep. In case such disturbances weren’t enough, the waves warn of an impending one: the sea is harsher than usual.
The estuary of the Bakkhali River in Cox’s Bazar is also dotted with trawlers and fishing boats. Fishermen who had taken all the necessary steps to secure a nice catch were now slowly making their way back to land.
The trawlers that are still at sea will return when the danger signal, which is currently at two, is hoisted further, according to Delwar Hossain, general secretary of the Cox’s Bazar District Fishing Boat Owners Association.
According to Muhammad Shaheen Imran, the Cox’s Bazar district administrator, control rooms have been installed in every upazila. In the district’s coastal districts, 576 shelters, including all cyclone shelters and schools, have been maintained ready.
Additional items stored include Tk 10 lakh in cash, 490 tonnes of rice, 7 tonnes of dry food, and 194 bundles of tin. There are 33 refugee camps in Ukhia and Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar, according to Shamsud Douza Nayan, an additional commissioner of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commission office.

The cyclone has made the sea a little rougher than usual, according to Mohammad Sukkur, a senior lifeguard employed by Sea Safe Life Guard Company who is responsible for beach security. He claimed that red flags had been raised and that visitors were not allowed to enter the sea.
In the meantime, the Chittagong Port Authority has raised its own “Alert-2” in response to the Meteorological Department’s warning signal number 4 caused by cyclone Mocha. The Cyclone Standing Committee will meet at 7 p.m. to deliberate how to handle the cyclone, and the port authority has established a control room.
According to Coast Guard media officer Lt Commander Abdur Rahman, the Coast Guard stood ready to handle any emergency both during and after hurricane Mocha. The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been instructed to raise warning signal number 2 as a precaution.
All fishing vessels and trawlers operating in the northern Bay and the deep sea have been warned by the Met office to exercise caution and keep close to the shore.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) estimates that Cyclone Mocha live tracking might have winds as high as 175 km/h when it makes landfall on Sunday.
